Spookley is a Spokes-Pumpkin for National Bullying Prevention Month!

October is National Bullying Prevention Month and our very own Spookley the Square Pumpkin is the official spokes-pumpkin! This initiative is lead by The PACER Organization, whose National Bullying Prevention Center unites, engages and educates communities to address bullying through creative, relevant and interactive resources. So how does Spookley fit in?

Spookley knows how it feels to be bullied because the other pumpkins on the farm always teased him for being square shaped. But, when a mighty storm hits Holiday Hill Farm, the very thing that made Spookley so different, ends up saving the day (and the whole pumpkin patch!) Spookley’s story teaches all of us a great lesson of acceptance and kindness, and gives us hope for a friendlier future, without bullies!

How can you participate in National Bullying Prevention Month?

- Share The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin with your kids, and ask them what they think about bullying. Want to win a copy of Spookley’s omBook for your Apple device? To enter, go to our Facebook page and tell us why the anti-bullying campaign is important to you!

- Join us on October 12th for an Anti-Bullying Twitter Party at 6PM PDT using the #OMSpookley hashtag

- Help spread the word on Unity Day, October 12th, by wearing orange! Then, post your orange-clothed photos on our Facebook wall with the Anti-bullying pledge: “Make it orange, and make it end!”

- Visit Spookley at a Pumpkin Patch near you! Local farmers across North America are supporting this initiative with Spookley shaped corn mazes! Check out the Spookley maze below from Swank Farms in Hollister California. Find a Spookley farm in your area.

- You can also watch Spookley on the big screen! The Legend of Spookley The Square Pumpkin will be shown at select theaters during the month of October. Find a theater in your area!

- Celebrate Spookley in the Classroom! PACER has created a great set of classroom toolkits centered around bullying prevention, for elementary through high school aged kids.

October is going to be a fun filled month! However you spend it, we hope you have a fantastic time and a safe and happy Halloween!
